Gun control? We need medication control!

bullets in medicine bottleIn mass shootings involving guns and mind-altering medications, politicians immediately seek to blame guns but never the medication. Nearly every mass shooting that has taken place in America over the last two decades has a link to psychiatric medication, and it appears today’s tragic event is headed in the same direction.

According to ABC News, Adam Lanza, the alleged shooter, has been labeled as having “mental illness” and a “personality disorder.” These are precisely the words typically heard in a person who is being “treated” with mind-altering psychiatric drugs.

One of the most common side effects of psychiatric drugs is violent outbursts and thoughts of suicide.

Note: The shooter was originally mid-identified as Ryan Lanza but has now been corrected to Adam Lanza.

The Columbine High School shooters were, of course, on psychiatric drugs at the time they shot their classmates in 1999. Suicidal tendencies and violent, destructive thoughts are some of the admitted behavioral side effects of mind-altering prescription medications.

No gun can, by itself, shoot anyone. It must be triggered by a person who makes a decision to use it. And while people like NY Mayor Bloomberg are predictably trying to exploit the deaths of these children to call for guns to be stripped from all law abiding citizens who have done nothing wrong whatsoever, nobody calls for medication control.

Why is that? After all, medication alters the mind that controls the finger that pulls the trigger. The saying that “guns kill people” is physically impossible. People kill other people, and as we all learned from watching the O.J. Simpson trial, you don’t need a gun to commit murder.

We should be outlawing psychiatric medications, not an inanimate piece of metal

If there is to be any legitimate debate on so-called “gun control” in the aftermath of this shooting, the only idea that makes any sense at all would be to restrict gun purchases by people currently taking psychiatric medications. But even that restriction would of course be abused by the government to take guns away from perfectly healthy, law-abiding citizens who innocently seek treatment for mild depression and who honestly have no clue that psychiatric drugs can cause violent behavior.

A far better solution here would be to outlaw psychiatric drugs that cause the violent behavior in the first place. After all, if you only outlaw guns but fail to eliminate the drugs that cause the violence, people dosed up on mind-altering meds will simply find alternate weapons to commit the same acts of violence. You don’t think a crazy guy with a sword can hack up 20 or 30 kids in a school? A sword, a knife or even a pick axe can be just as deadly as a firearm.

A guy with a chain saw can do all kinds of damage if he’s out of his mind. Should we ban chain saws?

I have thought for quite some time that people on medication are dangerous operating automobiles on public roads. If driving drunk is illegal, why isn’t “driving on meds” illegal? Why are wildly medicated people allowed to operate heavy machinery?

A high-ranking police officer in Tucson, Arizona once told me, on the record, that one-third of all automobile accidents in the city of Tucson were related to medicated drivers. That’s an astonishing number, and if true, it would seem to indicate that medications are more dangerous than guns when it comes to the total daily body count.

Do the math: medications are far more deadly than guns

Medications kill roughly 100,000 Americans each year according to study statistics. The actual number is either 98,000 or 106,000 depending on which study you believe.

For guns to be as deadly as medications, you’d have to see a Newton-style massacre happening ten times a day, every day of the year. Only then would “gun violence” even match up to the number of deaths caused by doctor-prescribed, FDA-approved medications.

Why does America grieve for the children killed in Newton, but not for the medical victims killed by Big Pharma? Are the lives of people on medication not valuable compared to the lives of children in elementary school? Will Obama shed a tear for the victims of Big Pharma, or are his tears reserved only for politically expedient events that push his agenda of unconstitutional gun restrictions?

If our goal us to stop the violence in America, we are completely dishonest if we do not consider the mental causes of violent behavior. And that starts with mind-altering psychiatric drugs which I believe have unleashed a drug-induced epidemic of violence across our nation.

Obama, Bloomberg and others will point to guns and try to convince you that inanimate metal objects are the cause of this violence. But they lie by omission. No guns shoots itself. The trigger must be pulled by someone, and the mental state of that person is the primary cause of the resulting action. To ignore this fundamental chain of facts is brutally dishonest.

  1. Psychiatric drugs definitely can cause suicidal thoughts. I have had chronic moderate to severe pain for years and every doctor wants to treat my pain with SSRIs. They were adamant that the opiate painkillers I had been using were terrible drugs that would lead to an addiction. When taking just one or two painkillers a day, I felt normal, healthy, energetic. I slept well, feeling refreshed in the morning. After taking SSRIs, I became depressed, lethargic, angry, experienced huge mood swings, my pupils became very large, could not sleep for days at a time, had more headaches and became suicidal. My pain was not relieved. What bothered me most was that the doctors said we don’t want you to become dependent on opiates then handed me a prescription for an SSRI, said you may have to take these for the rest of your life and we may have to up the dosage occasionally. Withdrawal symptoms can also be experienced after someone stops taking SSRIs. I never experienced any horrible withdrawal symptoms from opiates, but two of the SSRIs were a nightmare to come off of. I do not agree in making psychiatric drugs illegal as I feel all drugs should be legal. However, doctors need to start seriously considering alternative treatments for “mental illness” especially for those who are simply depressed due to something negative happening in their life. Unfortunately, drug companies are billion dollar enterprises so they’ll continue to push their dangerous meds on everyone while the government continues to wage a “war” on the drugs they deem too dangerous for the average person to take responsibly.

  2. Here is an edited excerpt from my blog regarding psychiatrists

Psychiatry/psychotherapy/psychology are NOT sciences but belief systems based on nothing more than the hang-ups and spiritual emptiness of sexually frustrated Victorian-age males, most of them Jewish, packaged and sold to the world as sciences. To present them as scientific descriptions of the psyche and how it functions, to use them as yardsticks with which to measure all humans and as tools to “heal” is not only monumentally fraudulent but criminally dangerous.

These “psychobabble sciences” are not only schemes to make money for the psychiatrists and their partner in crime, the pharmaceutical industry, but they also lend themselves beautifully to covert manipulation and mind-control. And that is the aspect your government is most interested in!

Freud’s “talking cure” is a scam, designed to keep the patient “sick” for as long as possible and to take his money. Freud’s letters are very revealing in this context: turning down an invitation to travel he wrote of his fear that a wealthy client might get well during his absence. This mercenary attitude displayed by the founder of this “science” is continued by its practitioners and explains why psychiatrists are constantly expanding the range of psychiatric “illnesses” that only they are qualified to diagnose and treat using mumbo-jumbo and powerful psychoactive drugs.

A big problem of the psychiatric community is the abnormally high suicide rate of its practitioners. Psychiatrists in the United States have a suicide rate about six times that of the general population.

There is clearly something very wrong with these guys!!! That’s what attracts them to this “profession” in the first place! There is no doubt in my mind that their alleged knowledge of the human mind is derived from navel-gazing, from studying their own mental afflictions.

Perhaps we should subject them to the same kind of treatment they dish out so readily? How about electroshock combined with a powerful drug regimen? Brain surgery? Or sterilization? Or we could do what they did to the mentally ill in the past – put them into an asylum, chain them to the wall and open the place to paying visitors for the amusement of the public.

Under Common Law, which applies in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, your mental and physical well-being and integrity are inviolate!!!

Unless there is proof that you are a CLEAR and PRESENT DANGER to somebody’s mental-physical health and well-being NOBODY has any authority to assess your mental health and order you to undergo treatment.

Any such interference with your mental and physical well-being and integrity is a crime under Common Law – ASSAULT! i.e. a crime punishable by imprisonment

MAD, adj. Affected with a high degree of intellectual independence; not conforming to standards of thought, speech and action derived by the conformants from the study of themselves; at odds with the majority; in short, unusual. It is noteworthy that persons are pronounced mad by officials destitute of evidence that they themselves are sane…

  3. The ONLY threat to freedom in USA is the US government. Quite clear. Once disarmed Americans eventually will be murdered by their own government. Why would it be different in USA ?

  4. Governments and people in charge of governments are the main cause of mass murders. Obama is a good example. So is Assad and many of nice government protectors. Mike Adams has a fantastic point. Arms are first to protect you against people like Obama.

  5. . Nobody talks about the second shooter now… Expect the scum in Washington to try to disarm Americans. It is quite clear that this boy did not act alone and that his death is also very convenient in the circumstances. There is ALWAYS a psychotrope involved in these crimes and always a connection to a psychiatrist.

  6. The real mass murderers in USA are the psychiatrists. These people are plain simple crazy. The boy was also autistic. 100% induced by this filthy US drug industry and their tainted vacccinations. USA is runned by vicouis mass murdering scum from Wall Street.. Big Pharma and the doctors are 100% for is happening. All 100% of these horrible crimes have been induced by dangerous psychiatrix drugs. All of them.

  7. “One of the most common side effects of psychiatric drugs is violent outbursts and thoughts of suicide.”

It could be said the same for alcohol and other drugs. Do you want the government to be able to decide what you are allowed to eat, medicate yourself with, etc.?

Antidepressant and psychotic drugs are useful to treat some conditions but treating these conditions, often, is not without side effects.

If you treat a person with delusion of persecution for depression he/she could have the will to go against his perceived persecutors. If you threat a mob hitman for depression he will be able to retake his former job.

  8. I admit that in the confusion and panic of such an event people can and will misinterpret some of what is going on. But not all of the people all of the time.

Consider this: assasinations and mass killings have been occurring for decades in the US (and only there!) with clockwork regularity. Followed – with clockwork regularity – by calls for the ban on guns. While witnesses come forward that assert the presence of more than one shooter authorities, so-called, find – with clockwork regularity – that a lone allegedly mentally disturbed gunman was responsible.

In my country (Australia) we had a similar shooting many years ago, known as the Port Arthur massacre. It was blamed on a lone gunman who can’t even tie his shoe laces let alone shoot straight. And after that guns disappeared!

There is no pattern? It’s all just conicidence? Nothing to worry about? The government is only protecting you?

None are as blind as those that do not want to see. Are you unwilling to face unpleasant truth that the government of the US is a criminally insane entity hell-bent on removing the only thing that still stands in the way of a total police state, your guns? Or are you intentionally trying to sow some doubt and confusion in people’s mind?

To all Americans that can still see what is going on: do not make the mistake that Australians made which was to accept, sheep-like, the ban on guns. If you accept the ban you won’t have anything to defend yourself with when the jack-booted stormtroopers come to get you.
